Wesleyan volleyball defeats Glenville State in four sets

GLENVILLE – The West Virginia Wesleyan Lady Bobcat volleyball team picked up their first conference win of the year at the Waco Center vs Glenville State University. Wesleyan won sets one and two with scores of 25-12 and 25-20. Glenville took set three, but the Lady Bobcats sealed the victory winning set four, 25-16.

Notable performances for the Lady Bobcats included Bhrooke Axe leading the team in kills and blocks with 14 kills and six blocks. Alauna Wilson recorded 13 kills followed by Emily Dension with 12 kills,11 digs, and four blocks. Junior Alexis Moeschler led the team in digs and aces with 19 digs and four aces. Setter Jalynn West recorded 46 assists on the night along with nine digs and two aces. Senior Jayla Cowherd recorded five blocks being the second leader for the Lady Bobcats.

The volleyball team’s next match is against the Mountain Lions of Concord University at home Tuesday, Oct. 8 at 7 p.m.
