Wesleyan swim teams compete in tri outing at Steubenville

STEUBENVILLE — The West Virginia Wesleyan Bobcat men’s and women’s swimming teams traveled to Franciscan College in Steubenville, Ohio for a tri-meet with the host Barons and Bethany College, Saturday. The men came away with a win over Bethany 89-10 and the women dropped team score totals to both Franciscan, 134-36 and Bethany, 88-53

Highlighting the Wesleyan effort was the men’s sweep of the 50 Free with Caleb Martin winning in a time of 23.66, Jack Gutekunst taking second with a time of 24.46 and Nick Gerosa in third with a time of 25.87.

Marcus Walker was a triple winner with victories in the 200-yard Freestyle (1:51.76), the 200-yard Breaststroke (2:14.13) and as a part of the 200-yard Freestyle Relay (1:43.13).

Martin was also a triple winner with victories in the 50 Free, 100-yard Freestyle (54.00) and as a part of the 200-yard Freestyle Relay.

Steven Groves was a double winner with victories in 200-yard IM (2:21.21) and as a part of the 200-yard Freestyle Relay.

For the women, Annalise Gentilozzi won over Bethany in the 200-yard Freestyle (2:17.51), won over Franciscan in the 100-yard Freestyle (1:03.98) and was a part of the 200-yard Medley Relay that beat Bethany.
