Wesleyan misses out on MEC Softball Tournament as seeds and pairings announced

Wesleyan failed to qualify for the 2025 Mountain East Conference Softball Tournament, as the seeds and first-round matchups were announced for the championship beginning this week in Salem, Virginia.

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. — The Mountain East Conference announced Sunday the seeds and opening round matchups for the 2025 MEC Softball Tournament, which begins this week at the Moyer Sports Complex in Salem, Virginia.

The opening day of competition, which will feature four matchups, is set for Wednesday. At 2:30 p.m., MEC South Division regular season champion Glenville State will face Wheeling on Field 1. In the other 2:30 matchup, the North’s No. 2 seed, West Liberty, will face South No. 3 seed Davis & Elkins on Field 3.

At 5 p.m., MEC North Division regular season Fairmont State will meet Concord on Field 1, while the South’s No. 2 seed Charleston will face off with the North’s No. 3 seed Point Park.

The four-day MEC Softball Championship will conclude Saturday, May 3.

North Seeds:
1N – Fairmont State (19-9)
2N – West Liberty (18-10)
3N – Point Park (10-18)
4N – Wheeling (8-20)

South Seeds:
1S – Glenville State (22-8)
2S – Charleston (21-9)
3S – Davis & Elkins (20-10)
4S – Concord (16-14)
