Wesleyan marketing honorary inducts four new members

BUCKHANNON, W.Va. –  Four West Virginia Wesleyan College seniors were inducted into the Alpha Mu Alpha national marketing honorary in a ceremony Wednesday, April 21.

Dakota Bull ’21, Carolyn Saulle ’21, Cole Skaggs ’21 and Kobe Vinegar ’21 are all senior marketing majors who achieved a minimum overall GPA of 3.25 to be eligible for membership into Alpha Mu Alpha.

“Each of these soon-to-be marketing professionals have excelled in their studies, not just in marketing courses, but in all business and general education courses,” advisor Dr. Kimberly Conrad said. “To say I am proud of these four amazing students is an understatement. It has been an honor and a blessing from God to be a small part of their academic success. I am confident that I will hear about their continued professional success in the years to come.”

Bull, of Clarksburg, West Virginia, is a marketing major while also completing the College’s five-year Master of Business Administration degree this semester with a concentration in human resources. He has a minor in management. In addition to maintaining a 3.5 grade point average and making the Dean’s List numerous times, Bull completed internships with the College, ERIE Insurance and Artistry on Main.  He has served as president and vice president of the College’s American Marketing Association chapter and the Kappa Alpha Order fraternity. Bull will be employed as a health care consultant for Baker Tilly following graduation.

Saulle, of Farmingdale, New York, will pursue a master’s degree in marketing from New York University following graduation. A member of the women’s soccer team, Saulle was awarded a full academic/athletic scholarship and has been a member of the Dean’s List all four years.  Saulle also completed internships with Scholastic Inc. and the College.

Skaggs, of St. Clairsville, Ohio, is also earning his Master of Business Administration degree this year. A four-year member of the WVWC football team, Skaggs earned Dean’s List honors every semester and was named to the All-Mountain East Conference Academic Team for three years. He was inducted into the Omicron Delta Kappa National Leadership Honor Society and completed an internship with WVU medicine focusing on community practice and public relations. Skaggs also held positions as public relations chair, social chair and recruitment chair of the Kappa Alpha Order fraternity and is a member of the WVWC AMA Chapter.

Vinegar, of Trotwood, Ohio, is also earning his Master of Business Administration degree this semester with a concentration in human resources and will have a minor in communication. While making the Dean’s List for several semesters, Vinegar has also been a defensive back for the Wesleyan football team, president of the Black Student Union, a brother of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc., a WVWC Student Ambassador and a peer mentor. He is also a part-time marketing coordinator for Problem Solver’s Consultants.

The WVWC AMA Chapter is one of only two collegiate chapters in West Virginia. This student-led organization provides members with the opportunity to learn more about and practice marketing concepts through training seminars and resources provided by the national AMA, regional and national competitions, and by working  with campus organizations and local businesses by providing marketing services.  The AMA Chapter is open to any student on campus.
