Wesleyan lacrosse tumbles to Davis & Elkins, 30-6

ELKINS —Davis & Elkins College delivered a blistering offensive showcase, dropping West Virginia Wesleyan 30–6 in a Mountain East Conference women’s lacrosse matchup, Sunday.

The offensive barrage was led by a spectacular dual performance from Ari Hinton and Rylee Anderson, who combined for 21 goals and 3 assists. Hinton tallied 11 goals with one assist, and on free-position shots, she went 3-for-4. Anderson was nearly as unstoppable, notching 10 goals and two assists, frequently burning defenders in isolation and on fast breaks.

Ke’ya Stevens also played a pivotal role, adding five goals and an assist. Seven different players scored for D&E, as the team turned 61 total shots into 30 goals—showcasing depth, movement, and ruthless efficiency.

Midfielder Zoe Mackey was everywhere, collecting nine ground balls and adding an assist while also dominating draw controls (part of the team’s 22–17 edge).

For Wesleyan, Nyah Elmer was a lone bright light. The midfielder scored a hat trick and added 8 draw controls, constantly battling through pressure. Freshman Ashlyn LaPlante chipped in with two goals, and Sydney Pierre Louis added a single tally on a free-position opportunity.

Goalkeepers Ella Gomez and Tatiyana Blacknall faced a shooting gallery, combining for 12 saves on 42 shots on goal. The Lady Bobcats struggled to maintain possession and convert offensive chances, recording just 10 shots on target.

Despite the scoreline, the game wasn’t short on physicality. A total of 17 cards were issued across both squads, with multiple man-up goals punctuating the action. Davis & Elkins capitalized, scoring several times while up a player.
