BUCKHANNON — A member of the West Virginia Wesleyan College community has tested positive for COVID-19, according to a statement from college officials issued late Monday.

The following statement was made today by John Bohman, Supervisor of Safety and Security at West Virginia Wesleyan College.

“A member of the West Virginia Wesleyan College community has tested positive for COVID-19,” Bohman said. “The College is following all safety and public health protocols; the individual remains in isolation.

“The safety of each and every member of the campus community is the College’s highest priority,” he added. “We continue to urge all members of the Wesleyan campus community to follow all safety and public health protocols outlined by the Upshur-Buckhannon Health Department and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control.”

College officials noted that the information was being shared “as part of our commitment to transparency for both the campus community and the Buckhannon-Upshur community writ large during this global health pandemic.”
