The West Virginia State Police is seeking a man who failed to appear in court on a first-degree murder charge.

The State Police are searching for Christopher Shawver Dotson, 34, who is wanted for failure to appear for his court hearing Tuesday on a first-degree murder charge.

Dotson was last seen in Elkins, W.Va. but also has family ties to Braxton County. He is 6 feet tall and weighs 180 pounds.

According to the WVSP, Dotson is considered dangerous; please use extreme caution when approaching. Anyone having an information regarding the whereabouts of Christopher Dotson is urged to call the West Virginia State Police at (304) 765-2101 in Braxton County or (304) 637-0200 in Randolph County.
