It’s time for Yard of the Month, sponsored by Fred Brooks Garden Club. The first award in May is for Strawberry Yard of the Month. Get out that strawberry décor and show off your strawberry pride. This year’s Strawberry Festival theme is “Strawberry Freedom.” Judging will end on May 6; if you wish to be considered, please have your decorating done by them.
Judges will be out and about picking this year’s winners from the five voting districts within the city of Buckhannon for the months of May, June, July and August. Here are what the judges are looking for throughout the 2023 season:
- Tasteful landscaping
- A neat, well-groomed yard
- A mix of flowers & shrubbery
- Evidence that the owner takes pride in their yard
Please remember if you are a past winner for the years 2020, 2021, or 2022 you are not eligible to win until three years have passed.
