Virginia Lois Lewis Turpin

Virginia Lois Lewis Turpin, 94, of Buckhannon, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2023.

Born on December 7, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Arvin and Rodaha Mauller England. Virginia was widowed, having been married to first, Clyde Lewis and later, Norman Turpin. She spent most of her life as a homemaker and later worked as a housekeeper in Dollywood Hotels after moving to Tennessee with her second husband Norman.

Virginia was known for her love for crafts, yard sales, thrift shopping, and reading Amish books. She had a special place in her heart for animals and always had a dog as a pet. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family.

Virginia is survived by four grandchildren: Wayne Gibbons of French Creek, Donna Duke and husband, Scott, of Buckhannon, Ronnie Gibbons of Fredericksburg, VA, and Angela Lewis of Michigan; ten great-grandchildren: Steffanee, Melissa, Learay, Kody, Benjamin, Richard, Randy, Zachary, MaKayla, and McKenna; 18 great-great-grandchildren; two sisters: Jean Adkins of Pontiac, MI, and Louise Young of Ohio; several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Gloria Carklir of Tennessee.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, Arvin and Rodaha England; spouses, Clyde Lewis and Norman Turpin; daughter, Patricia Gibbons; son, Billy Lewis; grandchild, Wanda Bender; four great-grandchildren: infant twins, Terrie and Jonathan Duke, April Riley, and Jonathan Bender; one great-great-grandchild, Onyx Bender; and seven siblings: Betty Carte, Dorothy Myers, Lula Fox, Robert England, Alvin England Jr., Charles England, and Beatrice Ellis.

Family and friends will gather for Visitation at Clutter Funeral and Cremation located at 21 Elnora Circle in Buckhannon from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, June 15, 2023. Funeral Services will begin at 1 p.m. on Thursday in the Clutter Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Wease Day officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasantdale Cemetery in Selbyville.
