Nancy Lea Lantz

Nancy Lea Lantz, age 74, of Philippi, WV, died Sunday, July 13, 2025, at the home of her sister in Philippi.

She was born March 9, 1951, in Barbour County, WV, a daughter of the late George Russell and Virginia Maxine Workman Summerfield.

On March 5, 1977, she married Gary Lantz who preceded her in death on January 16, 2020.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, George Russell Summerfield, Jr.

She is survived by her children, David, Jim, Bobby and wife Sharla and Belinda; one sister, Virginia Brown and husband David of Philippi; close friend, David Allen Workman of Philippi; niece, Kimberly Lowther and husband Frank of Buckhannon, WV; friends, Debbie Marsh, Charlotte Wentz and neighbor and good friend, Lora Leeson all of Philippi; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Mike Lantz of Buckhannon and her beloved dog, Tiny.

Mrs. Lantz was a Christian by faith and a member of the Second Chance Community Church.

She was a homemaker who enjoyed word puzzles and camping with her husband, especially at Holly River.

A Graveside Service will be held 2 PM Thursday, July 17, 2025, at Mt. Olive in Philippi, WV with Cowboy Dave Brown officiating.
