6-year-old alleges father pointed firearm at him during domestic altercation

Alex A. Alkire, 27, was charged with felony wanton endangerment, gross child neglect, and misdemeanor domestic assault after allegedly pointing a firearm at his 6-year-old son during a domestic dispute.

On June 17, 2025, Corporal Gordon with the Upshur County Sheriff’s Office received a report that a 6-year-old child disclosed that his father, Alex A. Alkire, 27, of Buckhannon, had pointed a firearm at him during a domestic altercation with his wife.

After multiple interviews and the seizure of multiple firearms from Alkire’s residence, Alkire was charged with the felony offenses of wanton endangerment with a firearm, gross child neglect, and the misdemeanor offense of domestic assault.

Alkire was brought before Magistrate Mark Davis and released on a $11,000 surety bond.
