Virginia Kathryn Cerullo

Virginia Kathryn Cerullo, age 96, of Buckhannon, WV, died Sunday, November 20, 2022, at United Hospital Center in Bridgeport, WV.

She was born January 22, 1926, in Harrison County, WV, a daughter of the late John and Mary Keener Boyce. On February 16, 1946, she married Bordeno L. Cerullo who preceded her in death on March 11, 1993. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Delbert and John Boyce and her beloved dog Sara.

She is survived by three sons, Bordeno R. “Dino” Cerullo and wife Linda K. of Raleigh, NC, James Michael “Mike” Cerullo and wife Martha of Buckhannon and Steven D. Cerullo and wife Connie of Fairmont, WV; one daughter, Carmela Campbell of Buckhannon; nine grandchildren, Jennifer Parham, Natalie Kuhn (Walter), Angela Tomblyn (Josh), Nicholas Cerullo (Kate), Brandon Cerullo (Nichole), Ashley Campbell (Sam), Briana Payne (Derek), Logan Cerullo and Lance Cerullo; 13 great-grandchildren; one sister, Lola Jean Whaley of MD and one sister-in-law, Elaine Boyce of Buckhannon.

Mrs. Cerullo was a homemaker and a founding member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Buckhannon. She was also a member of the Altar Society and a Eucharistic Minister for the church. Virginia was a founding member of the St. Joseph’s Hospital Auxiliary and a member of the Fred Brook’s Garden Club. She was an avid quilter and enjoyed collecting thimbles and traveling with her family and friends. Above all, she was a loving mother and grandmother who loved having her family sitting around the table together.

In honoring Mrs. Cerullo’s wishes, she will be cremated.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2022, from 10 AM to 11:45 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 Noon at the Holy Rosary Church in Buckhannon with Father Edward Tetteh, S.V.D. and Father John Tran, S.V.D. officiating. Burial will follow in the Heavner Cemetery in Buckhannon.

In lieu of flowers contributions maybe made to the charity of your choice in honor of Mrs. Cerullo.
