TENNERTON – During the acknowledgments and highlights portion of last Tuesday’s Upshur County Board of Education meeting, members learned not only about the athletic achievements of some of the Buckhannon-Upshur High School students, but also that they are high-achieving academically. State qualifiers in wrestling and boys and girls swimming were awarded Upshur Stars for their accomplishments and being stellar scholar-athletes.
Upshur County Assistant Superintendent of Schools Dr. Debra Harrison welcomed and congratulated each of the athletes from what were described as two of the most successful sports at Buckhannon-Upshur High School – the swim team and the wrestling team.
