Pamela June Slaughter

Pamela June Slaughter, age 65, of Buckhannon, WV died Friday, May 17, 2024, at Elkins Rehabilitation and Care Center in Elkins.

She was born February 21, 1959, in Buckhannon, a daughter of the late Evelyn Beer Riffle.

On November 18, 1988, she married John Slaughter who survives. Also surviving are three children, Shelley Trader and husband Eric of Buckhannon, Jonathan Slaughter and wife Bethany of Buckhannon, and Katlyn Slaughter and boyfriend Tyler of Elkins; five granddaughters, Courtney George and husband Logan of Mabie, WV, Emily Carr and husband Leland of Sutton, WV, Erica Trader of Buckhannon, Aniya Slaughter of Buckhannon, and Caroline Shiflett of Elkins; three grandsons, Jaxson and Jenson Slaughter both of Buckhannon and Gryffin Shiflett of Elkins; one great-granddaughter, Madilynne George of Mabie and two other great-grandchildren on the way; one sister, Alisa Hardman and husband Sonny of Buckhannon and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Slaughter worked as a Secretary in the Upshur County School System for 23 years and attended the Full Gospel Church. She loved the outdoors and for over 20 years was an instructor for the Becoming an Outdoor Woman program. Pam was an avid gardener, enjoyed visiting Amish Country, and loved camping, fishing and going out on the boat.

Friends will be received Tuesday, May 21, 2024, from 4 PM to 9 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Wednesday 11 AM at the funeral home with Rev. Chad Lewis, Rev. Mark Davis, and Rev. Wease L. Day officiating. Burial will follow in the Heavner Cemetery in Buckhannon.
