Upshur resident named Employee of the Month at SJMH

Casey Kelley, of the Physician Clinics of Mon Health Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital (SJMH), in Weston, was chosen as the ICARE January 2021 Employee of the Month.

Her nominator wrote, “Casey manages her time well and she offers assistance with tasks outside the normal for her job description.  She is always willing to learn and try new things.  She is always ready with a smile on her face.  She sets the example for those around by wearing her face mask properly.

“Casey tries to attend all of the SJMH extracurricular activities. If Casey has ever had a bad day, I could not identify it. She is always wearing a smile which you can see in her eyes. She has the kindest disposition and has a welcoming and helpful attitude. She begins work as soon as she clocks in and frequently assists those around her. She displays such empathy for patients that she goes above and beyond to fit them into a schedule.

“Casey is the type of person everyone wishes to have in their office.  She even remained at work to help an elderly patient catch the patient’s dog.”

Casey was very pleased with the nomination and wrote, “I really enjoy coming to work here. I love the friends I have made and am thankful to be chosen as the Employee of the Month.”

Casey began employment at SJMH in 2016. She worked at Dr. Hornsby’s office and also at Mountaineer Healthcare for Women before transferring to the Physician Clinic at Garton Plaza in July 2020.

She is a graduate of Buckhannon-Upshur High School.  Her parents are Barbara and Jerry Lee. She and her husband, Brandon, live in Upshur County.  They have four children – Kristen Roylance (husband is Zander), Taylor, Lyle and Sophie. Her husband is the pastor at the Light Chapel Church, which plays a large part in her outside activities.

As well as her church activities, she enjoys spending time with her family. The couple also has several feline family members – Oliver and Angel.
