Upshur Parish House proudly announces the grand opening of its new satellite food pantry location in Rock Cave, WV. This expansion marks a significant milestone in the organization’s mission to provide essential food and utility assistance to neighbors in need. The new satellite pantry will officially open its doors on Wednesday, August 28, offering residents of southern Upshur County increased access to nutritious food and essential resources. The facility is located at 4 Church Street, the site of the former Rock Cave United Methodist Church. It will be open from noon to 4 p.m. on Wednesdays.
“We are thrilled to finally bring our services to Rock Cave,” said Isaac Casto, executive director of Upshur Parish House. “Our goal has always been to ensure that our neighbors have access to the necessities they deserve, and this new location is a key step toward making that goal a reality for more families.”
The Rock Cave satellite pantry will provide a variety of food items including fresh produce, dairy products, canned goods, and non-perishable items. In addition to food distribution, the pantry will offer utility and rental assistance through Crosslines. Future plans include nutritional education and programming to help families make healthier choices.
This expansion is made possible through the generous support of local donors, volunteers, and community partners. Upshur Parish House extends its heartfelt gratitude to all who have contributed to this effort, including former members of the Rock Cave United Methodist Church and the United Way of Gilmer, Lewis, & Upshur.
An open house event featuring a ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place on Wednesday, August 21, from 2 to 4 p.m. The event will include a community celebration with refreshments and tours of the new facility. All community members are invited to attend and learn more about the services offered. Donations of non-perishable food items will be greatly appreciated.
