Upshur Parish House and Chapel Hill UMC to host free Christmas Day dinner

The annual community meal will be served December 25 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., with carryout and home delivery available.

The Upshur Parish House and Chapel Hill United Methodist Church invite the community to their annual free Christmas Day Dinner on Thursday, December 25 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Chapel Hill UMC, located at 88 S. Kanawha Street in Buckhannon.

Meals will be available for carryout or home delivery. To request delivery, community members should call 681-837-2649 by December 23.

“Our annual Christmas Day Dinner provides neighbors with a traditional, comforting meal so they can celebrate the holiday without worry,” said Caroline Fulks, assistant director of the Upshur Parish House. “We hope to bring warmth and joy to our community on Christmas Day.”

The Parish House is accepting donations to support the event. Candy canes and cookies may be dropped off at the Parish House, located at 68 College Avenue, by Friday, December 19 at 1 p.m.

Monetary donations are also welcome and may be designated for the Christmas Day Dinner, other Parish House programs or general operations.

Volunteers are needed for meal preparation on December 23 at 9 a.m. and for packaging and delivery on December 25. Individuals interested in volunteering may call 681-837-2649 for details.
