BUCKHANNON, W.Va. — Upshur County Youth Soccer has opened registration for its 2026 fall recreational soccer season and is inviting players of all experience levels to join the league.
Registration will remain open through Friday, July 31, 2026. The player registration fee is $87 plus a processing fee.
Families may register through the GotSport online registration portal. A direct registration link is available on the Upshur County Youth Soccer Facebook page.
The fall season is open to boys and girls in U4-U14 age divisions. Whether a child is stepping onto the field for the first time or returning for another season, UCYS strives to provide a fun, welcoming environment where players can develop soccer skills, build confidence, learn teamwork and enjoy the game.
“Myself and the entire board are excited to welcome every player, coach and parent to the start of a new soccer season,” said league President Linn Baxa. “I’d encourage any child, regardless of soccer experience, to register.”
Practices will begin in mid-August, with games beginning later that month.
In addition to registering players, UCYS is also seeking volunteer coaches, referees and community members interested in supporting the league throughout the season. No previous coaching experience is required and training and resources are available.
“Volunteerism is the system our entire league operates on, from the coaches to the board,” Baxa continued. “Each position plays a vital part in creating a memorable experience for our youth. If anyone wants to be involved, we can find a position for you, whether it’s field maintenance or coaching.”
Families are encouraged to register early to assist with team formation and season planning.
