At Tuesday night’s Upshur County Board of Education meeting, the school system recognized its top teachers and service personnel as Employees of the Year.

Victoria Norman was named Teacher of the Year, and Brandon Kelley was selected as Service Personnel of the Year. Each school also honored their top employees.

“Tonight is one of the best nights ever in a school system because we get to honor the outstanding work of our employees,” Upshur County Schools Superintendent Christy Miller said. “It’s very difficult at the school level to choose just one person to represent the teaching profession as well as our service personnel. Everybody who is in this room tonight, whether they are the nominee or they’re here to support their fellow employees, is to be congratulated on the fantastic job that they do every day with our kids.”
