The Upshur County Democratic Women will host a candidate meet and greet on April 1 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Pretty Peonies Parlor, 22 N. Kanawha St. in Buckhannon, across from the Baxa Inn.
Candidates will introduce themselves, briefly speak about their platforms and take questions. After the formal portion, attendees will have time to mingle and speak with candidates individually. Light refreshments will be available.
Candidates who plan to attend as of March 18 include Mira Tanner-Hughes, WV House of Delegates candidate and State Executive Committee candidate; Cody H. Thompson, State Executive Committee candidate; Cindy Stemple, State Executive Committee candidate; Steven Wendelin, U.S. House of Representatives candidate; and Stephanie Spears Tomana, U.S. House of Representatives candidate.
“The Upshur County Democratic Women are thrilled that we can host a forum to provide an opportunity for local citizens to learn more about Democratic primary candidates and speak to those candidates about any concerns they may have,” said Holly Tunning Canfield, Upshur County Democratic Women president.
