The Office of the Upshur County Commission is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated professional to serve as an Administrative & Project Coordinator.
This position plays a key role in supporting county operations, special projects, grant development, contract administration, and strategic initiatives of the County Commission. This individual will be responsible for assisting with the daily administrative operations, including but not limited to vendor communication, contract preparation, contract review and renewals, assistance in monitoring compliance with various county ordinances, assistance in research and development in the planning, writing and preparation of grant applications, grant administration, and other duties that may be required to assist the County Administrator and County Commission.
The ideal applicant should be a self-starter who possesses strong analytical abilities and problem-solving skills; a high level of professionalism, experience handling administrative, financial, and project-related tasks with accuracy and efficiency; and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
Applicants should have an appropriate four-year degree in a related field of study (Public Administration, Business Administration, etc.) and/or a combination of education and relevant administrative or project management experience may be considered in place of formal education. Preferred skills include experience with the public sector and local government, knowledge of procurement and bidding procedures, and the ability to prioritize multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.

Compensation is commensurate with experience and qualifications. This is a full-time position with benefits, including health insurance (partially funded by employer), eligibility for an employer-funded Health Reimbursement Account (HRA), life insurance, dental and vision coverage, paid sick and vacation leave, and participation in the Public Employees Retirement System (PERS).
