The Upshur County Commission approved a new part-time position for the home confinement program due to an increased caseload as the courts continue to utilize the alternative sentencing method. It can also help reduce the county’s jail bill.
B-UHS’s homecoming parade starts at 6 p.m. October 14, with lineup at 5 p.m. on Sedgwick Street and coronation at 7:30 p.m. at the Wesleyan chapel. The football game and dance follow October 16 and 17.
WVU’s equine studies program has a rebuilt 10-stall barn at the J.W. Ruby Research Farm, designed to support horse care and hands-on student learning.
WVU Homecoming runs October 12–18, with royalty voting Tuesday and Wednesday, a Friday parade led by Jordan Harrison and a noon football game Saturday against Cincinnati.
Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital and Broaddus Hospital received rural health funding for AI note-taking and a telehealth pilot. The awards were announced Sept. 30.
