Upshur County Commission Agenda: June 13, 2024

The City of Buckhannon Water Board will hold a meeting on February 12, 2026, with the posted agenda outlining items to be discussed.

Charles James Poundstone Jr., 68, of Buckhannon, WV, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, storyteller and outdoorsman, passed away January 12, 2026, and will be remembered for his warmth, generosity and love of family.

West Virginia Wesleyan fell to No. 1 West Liberty 110-81 after a tight first half, as the Hilltoppers’ depth and second-half surge — including 31 points off turnovers — put the game out of reach.

Wesleyan pulled away with a dominant 27-point third quarter and strong rebounding to beat West Liberty 88-68, led by Ana Young’s 26, Sydney Baird’s 25 and Emma Witt’s 21.

West Virginia Wesleyan hired a new football coaching staff led by veteran head coach Mike Kellar, blending Division II success, professional experience, recruiting strength and regional ties to prepare the Bobcats for the upcoming season.

New Upshur County Senior Center director Brett Belt told Rotary the center serves 400-800 meals monthly, mostly via Meals on Wheels, plus offers daily lunches, in-home care, fitness classes and other services.
