A 22-year-old man was arrested in Buckhannon and faces multiple charges after allegedly threatening officers during and after his arrest.
Buckhannon-Upshur’s Lady Bucs finished second with 128 points at the Big 10 Conference Swim Championships, led by Mallory Hughes’ two runner-up finishes and several top-five individual and relay performances.
Buckhannon-Upshur finished seventh of eight with 50 points at the Big 10 Conference Championships, led by Grayson Colburn’s third in the 500 free and a third-place 400-yard freestyle relay.
The Buckhannon City Council will hold a meeting Feb. 5, 2026, with an agenda outlining items to be discussed and acted on by the council.
Wesley Ed Howard, 93, died January 30, 2026, at home in Hinkleville, where he’d lived since childhood. A sharp-witted family man and outdoorsman, he served in Korea, earned a WVU degree, and built Buckhannon’s Southern States through his famous “buy, sell, or trade” style.
The Fred W. Eberle Technical Center Administrative Council will hold its regular meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2026, at 2 p.m. The session will take place at the center, 208 Morton Avenue in Buckhannon.
