Tygart Valley Little League Wins Allegheny Insurance’s Match Donation A Second Time

James W. Wallace, Allegheny Insurance President, presents $1,000 in matching funds to Juston Armstrong, Tygart Valley Little League Vice President; and members of the Tygart Valley Little League All-Star teams.

Elkins, WV (August 12, 2019) – Tygart Valley Little League took advantage of Allegheny Insurance Services Inc.’s match donation program, “Keep the Change,” once again.
This long-time program begins with a bottle water donation from Allegheny Insurance to local non-profit organizations who then sell the bottled water at events throughout the year. Additionally, the groups are encouraged to promote the “Keep the Change” initiative, a unique pay-it-forward concept in which purchasers keep their water bottle and use it as a goodwill piggy bank. Purchasers collect spare change until the bottle is full and return it to the organization who sold it or donate to the charity of their choice.

For the second quarter of the year, April until June, Tygart Valley Little League raised the most funds. The group raised $1,000 and Allegheny Insurance has written a check for the same amount. Now, the little leaguers will be able to purchase uniforms, equipment, field and organize building maintenance, for over 100 youth who participate in their program.

“Allegheny’s ‘Keep the Change’ program is well known in the area and parents agree that it’s much easier to collect spare change than it is to sell donuts or some other fundraising item,” said Michele Wamsley, Tygart Valley Little League Board Member. “We also partner with Mill Creek IGA and Bob’s Mini Mart who displayed our goal and a bottle for people to drop dimes in.”

“We have greatly enjoyed seeing our ‘Keep the Change’ initiative take hold in our local communities,” said James W. Wallace, President of Allegheny Insurance. “There are many local groups and organizations that are in need of support; this is a great way to actively fundraise and be in the running to receive a matching donation.”

About “Keep the Change”
Allegheny Insurance recognizes the importance of corporate giving as it helps promote a better quality of life for our community, especially our youth. Allegheny helps to support fundraising by donating bottled water, which empowers our local organizations by giving them the tools to surpass any monetary donation we could otherwise give. By receiving free water bottles to sell, non-profits are able to raise money for their causes.

“Keep the Change” was created to encourage community members to “pay it forward” and support additional groups and organizations, by simply filling your empty Allegheny Insurance water bottle with dimes. The bottles hold 1,000 dimes, which equates to a $100 donation to your favorite charity. Learn more about “Keep the Change”.
