BUCKHANNON — West Virginia Wesleyan College hosted its annual track and field event, The Jasmine Claggett Invitational, Friday in which two Bobcat records were broken.
Glenville State University and Davis & Elkins College participated in the event that saw the Bobcats’ Leigha Hall and Anthony Sanders both break school records in the 3,000-meter run. Hall’s time of 10:18.50 broke the previous record of 10:22.54 set by Kelly Terhune, and Sanders’ time of 8:34.03 broke Paul Moore’s time of 8:52.20.
Also of note for the Bobcats was Taiwo Babawale Thropp who won the men’s 200-meter dash, running 21.4 which moved him to first place in the Mountain East Conference.
