Truman Richard Day

Truman Richard Day, age 76, of Childers Run Road, Buckhannon, died on Sunday, May 12, 2024, at his home surrounded by his loving family.  

He was born on October 1, 1947, in Buckhannon, a son of the late Truman C. and Ivy Frances Boni Day.  

He was united in marriage on October 1, 1974, to Barbara Slaughter Day, who survives.  In addition to his wife, he is also survived by two daughters: Amy and husband Michael Farnsworth of Buckhannon and Amanda Day of Buckhannon; two granddaughters:  Hailey Farnsworth and Bianca Leongtave both of Buckhannon; one brother Justin John “Butch” Day and wife Beth of Buckhannon; two sisters:  Margaret Posey and Pamela “Jill” Cimino both of Buckhannon; several nieces and nephews also survive.  

He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson Christopher Farnsworth. 

Mr. Day was retired from Corhart in Buckhannon.  He was a member of the Kesling Mill Lions Club and a Christian by Faith.  He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served in Vietnam.

The family would like to express a special appreciation to Lexus Hicks for all of her special care during his time of sickness and also the ALS Team at Clarksburg and Pittsburgh VA Medical Centers. 

The family is honoring his wishes for cremation and there will be no services.
