KERENS – Twenty FASTRAK Crate Late Models went head-to-head Saturday night at Elkins Raceway with a generous $5,000 payout on the mind.

As all eyes were on the Crate Late Models, onlookers of all ages could cut the tension in the air with a knife as the drivers settled into their racing seats, strapped into their seatbelts and pulled onto the track for hot laps. The FASTRAK Pro Late Model Touring Series officials – visiting from around the east coast – watched on as local and visiting drivers from across the United States battled behind the wheel.

“The Fastrak Racing Series currently is in its 20th year and has been a fundamental force in developing drivers. The Series has offered some of the highest-paying points funds in crate racing today,” according to the FASTRAK Racing Series website.

Brent Trimble, of Morgantown, celebrated in Victory Lane Saturday night with his friends, family and pit crew with a pop of a confetti cannon. Roaring cheers from onlooking racing fans filled the grandstands as Trimble pulled his #1 car onto Victory Lane. Trimble brought home a generous $5,000 payout for his valiant efforts during a gruesome 50 lap race on the dirt track.

Trimble was also dubbed the fastest qualifying car in his class, which granted him an additional $100 check from Pop Bit USA. He currently stands in 5th place in the FASTRAK Racing Series Top 10 Points Standings.

The evening of racing was nationally televised on the popular racing media platform FloRacing. Racing fans can watch Saturday night’s Thunder in the Mountains at Elkins Raceway on FloRacing.
