Timothy Boyd “Pap” Harris

Timothy Boyd “Pap” Harris, age 68, of Volga, WV, died Sunday, August 18, 2024, at WVU Medicine St. Joseph’s Hospital in Buckhannon. He was born November 13, 1955, in Buckhannon, a son of the late Wilbur “Bookie” and Dessie Herron Harris. On September 3, 1977, he married Katrina “Elmie” Smith, who survives.

He is also survived by one son, Aaron Harris and wife Tasha of Volga; two granddaughters, Raelee and Ariella Harris both of Volga; one grandson on the way; special son and daughter, Jordan and Katie Wilson of Volga; three special grandsons, Jacob, Liam and Carter Wilson all of Volga; four sisters, Marian Bailey and husband Bob of Volga, Vonda Rice, Marcia Harvey and husband Dennis and Karla Harris all of Buckhannon; one brother, Dennis Harris and wife Sherry of Volga and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Delana Harris and one brother-in-law, Pete Rice.

Mr. Harris was a truck driver for Jane Lew Trucking for several years and then went on to start his own trucking company, TH Trucking. He had the business for 10 years and then went on to work for the WV Department of Highways where he retired after 12 years of service.

Mr. Harris was known for being stubborn and lived his life his way and his way only. He was notorious for giving everyone a nickname. Mr. Harris loved to mow his grass, mowing almost every other day, and loved beans and cornbread and made sure everyone else loved them too. He was one of a kind and loved his grandchildren very much and loved spending time with them.

Friends will be received Wednesday, August 21, 2024, from 4 PM to 8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 11 AM Thursday at the funeral home with Pastor Ed Lowther officiating. Burial will follow in the Heavner Cemetery in Buckhannon.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Upshur County Youth Agriculture Complex 52 Wagoner Rd Ellamore, WV 26267.
