Thomas Eugene Bailey

Thomas Eugene Bailey, 90, of Tallmansville, W.Va., died Wednesday, May 4, 2021 at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, W.Va.

He was born July 3, 1930 in Flat Rock, W.Va., a son of the late Jacob and Hazel Foy Bailey.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Bettie Bailey; one son, Gary Bailey; seven brothers, Arthur, Ward, Harry, Ralph, Bill, Carl and Keith Bailey and two sisters, Norma Tenney and Hope DeBarr.

He is survived by one son, Bryan Bailey of Buckhannon; two brothers, Bob Bailey and wife Rita of Akron, Ohio and Earl Bailey and wife Joan of Fairmont, W.Va. and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Bailey was a teacher and a member of the Tallmansville Baptist Church. He served in the U. S. Army, volunteered at the Washington District Volunteer Fire Department and was a member of the Tallmansville C.E.O’s. He loved gardening, baking and sharing his produce and baked goods.

Friends will be received Saturday, May 8, 2021 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the Tallmansville Baptist Church. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. at the church with Rev. Tim Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in the Bailey Cemetery in Buckhannon.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Bailey Cemetery in c/o Steve or Donna Perkins, 669 Bailey Ridge Road, Buckhannon, WV 26201.
