This week’s Hank Ellis All-Stars: Wyatt Mason and Kailey Hart

BUCKHANNON – My Buckhannon is proud to present another edition of the Hank Ellis All-Stars. Each week, we will select a female and male athlete at Buckhannon-Upshur who has had an exemplary week on the baseball and softball diamonds, the track and field, the lacrosse field, or the tennis courts.

Our Hank Ellis All-Stars for the week of April 22– April 29 are Wyatt Mason and Kailey Hart.

Mason is a junior on the Buccaneer baseball team. Last Monday, he was on the mound when the Bucs upset Class AA No. 3 Lewis County at home by an 8-1. He pitched 6 1/3 innings and allowed just one earned run on five hits while striking out five. In a game against University on Tuesday, he knocked in two runs.

Hart is a junior on the Lady Buc softball team. She had a terrific week at the plate in four games, going six-for-12 for a .500 batting average. She had a double and a home run last week, driving in six runs and scoring five runs. In 16 plate appearances, she didn’t strike out once.

Congratulations to Mason and Hart as our weekly winners of the Hank Ellis All-Stars honor.
