BUCKHANNON – My Buckhannon is proud to present another edition of the Hank Ellis All-Stars. Each week we will select a female and male athlete at Buckhannon-Upshur that has had an exemplary week on the basketball court, the swimming pool or the wrestling mat.
Our Hank Ellis All-Stars for the week of Jan. 9 – Jan. 15 are Preston Bennett and Cadence Vincent.
Bennett is a senior on the Buccaneer swim team. At a home meet Saturday, he won the 200-yard IM (2:07.07) and 100-yard backstroke (54.51) — breaking his own 2022 school record of 55.69 seconds in the latter event and was a member of the first-place 200-yard medley and 200-yard freestyle relay teams.
Vincent is a senior on the Lady Buc swim team. She won the 100-yard backstroke (57.34) and 100-yard free (51.37) and was part of the first-place 200-yard medley relay team at Saturday’s meet.
Congratulations to Bennett and Vincent as our weekly winners of the Hank Ellis All-Stars honor.
