My Buckhannon is proud to present another spring of the Hank Ellis All-Stars. Each week, we will select a male and female athlete at Buckhannon-Upshur who has had an exemplary week on the baseball and softball diamonds, lacrosse fields, the track, and tennis courts.
Our Hank Ellis All-Stars for the week of March 23 – March 29 are Mallory Moss and Brody McDaniels.
Moss is a senior on the Lady Buc lacrosse team. Moss helped the Lady Bucs to a 3-0 week with wins over Fairmont Senior, University and Wheeling Park. In those three games, she had a banner week with 13 goals, three assists, 17 groundballs and seven caused turnovers.
McDaniels is a junior on the Buccaneer baseball team. Helping the Bucs get off to a 2-0 start, in a 14-4 win over North Marion, he started the game on the mound and went four innings to pick up the win, allowing just two earned runs on four hits while fanning seven. At the plate, he went a perfect three-for-three and knocked in five runs. In their opening day win over Philip Barbour, he was two-for-four at the plate, driving in two runs.
