BUCKHANNON – My Buckhannon is proud to present another edition of the Hank Ellis All-Stars. Each week, we will select a female and male athlete at Buckhannon-Upshur who has had an exemplary week on the basketball court, the wrestling mat, or the swimming pool.

Our Hank Ellis All-Stars for the weeks of Nov. 27 – Dec. 10 are Liam Garcia and Harley Dean.

Garcia is a senior on the wrestling team. He helped the Bucs win their opening dual against Lewis County with a 4-1 decision over Luke Boram in the 132-pound weight class and then took fourth place in the 126-pound weight class at the Elite Opener at Washington High School. Garcia lost his first match but rebounded to win his next four at the tournament, including getting his 100^th career win with a 6-0 decision over Scott Roberts of Riverbend High.

Dean is a junior on the Lady Buc basketball team. Coming off the bench, she helped the Lady Bucs down Pendleton County in their season opener by a 63-38 score. She led the team with 18 points and nine rebounds, just missing out on a double-double. She also added one assist and one steal.
