BUCKHANNON – My Buckhannon is proud to present another edition of the Hank Ellis All-Stars. We will select a female and male athlete at Buckhannon-Upshur each week that has had an exemplary week on the baseball or softball diamond, the tennis courts, the track and field or the lacrosse field.

Our Hank Ellis All-Stars for the week of March 21-27 are Jordan Gillum and Jansen Kimble.

Gillum is a junior on the Buckhannon-Upshur track and field team.

He racked up six wins in two meets last week.

In a home meet last Tuesday, Gillum won the 800-meter dash and was part of two relay teams (4×400 and the 4×800) that were victorious.

He followed that up winning the 1600-meter run and took first as part of the 4×400-meter and 4×800-meter relay teams at Doddridge County last Friday.

Kimble is a sophomore on the Buckhannon-Upshur softball team.

Last week, she pitched the Lady Bucs to a perfect 2-0 week including throwing a shutout against North Marion.

In a 17-1 win against Preston, she pitched four innings and gave up just one earned run on two hits while striking out four.

In the 11-0 shutout win over North Marion, she tossed all five innings and allowed just five hits while striking out seven, which was a career-high.

Congratulations to Gillum and Kimble as our weekly winners of the Hank Ellis All-Stars honor.
