This week’s Hank Ellis All-Stars: Jerin Westfall and Alyssa Abel

BUCKHANNON – My Buckhannon is proud to present another season of the Hank Ellis All-Stars. Each week, we will select a male and female athlete at Buckhannon-Upshur who has had an exemplary week on the basketball court, wrestling mat or swimming pool.

Our Hank Ellis All-Stars for the week of Feb. 17 – Feb. 23 are Jerin Westfall and Alyssa Abel.

Westfall is a junior on the Buccaneer basketball team. In their only game of the week, an impressive 60-55 road win at Parkersburg, Westfall was near perfect from the floor going 10-of-13. He had a double-double with a game-high 25 points and a game-high 11 rebounds. He just missed out on a triple-double with seven assists.

Abel is a senior on the Lady Buc basketball team. In Saturday’s road game against Elkins, Abel became just the fourth player in the history of the Lady Buc program to score 1,000 points. In a three-game week, she posted two double-doubles and averaged 19.8 points per game and 10 rebounds per game.

Congratulations to Westfall and Abel as our weekly winners of the Hank Ellis All-Stars honor.
