This week’s Hank Ellis All-Stars: Jerin Westfall and Alyssa Abel

BUCKHANNON – My Buckhannon is proud to present another season of the Hank Ellis All-Stars. Each week, we will select a male and female athlete at Buckhannon-Upshur who has had an exemplary week on the basketball court, wrestling mat or swimming pool.

Our Hank Ellis All-Stars for the weeks of Jan. 20 – Jan. 26 are Jerin Westfall and Alyssa Abel.

Westfall is a senior on the Buccaneer basketball team. In a 58-43 upset over Class AAA No. 5 Fairmont Senior, Westfall had a game-high 26 points. He also added 14 rebounds for a double-double and dished out seven assists while blocking one shot.

Abel is a senior on the Lady Buc basketball team. In a 2-1 week for the Lady Bucs, Abel averaged 16.8 points per game and eight rebounds per game. She had a double-double with 20 points and 10 rebounds in a 63-53 win over Lincoln.

Congratulations to Westfall and Abel as our weekly winners of the Hank Ellis All-Stars honor.
