BUCKHANNON – My Buckhannon is proud to present another edition of the Hank Ellis All-Stars. Each week, we will select a female and male athlete at Buckhannon-Upshur who has had an exemplary week on the basketball court, the wrestling mat, or the swimming pool.
Our Hank Ellis All-Stars for the week of Jan. 8 – Jan. 14 are Jaden Westfall and Casadie Lahman.
Westfall is a senior on the Buccaneer basketball team. In a 1-1 week for the Bucs that included an upset win over No. 5 Wheeling Park, Westfall had a stellar two games, averaging 16.0 points per game. In the upset home win against the Patriots, Westfall had a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds to go along with six assists. A day earlier on the road against Liberty, he had a game-high 20 points with five rebounds.
Lahman is a senior on the Lady Buc basketball team. In a 1-1 week for the Lady Bucs, she averaged 11.5 points per game. In a home win against Liberty, she recorded a double-double with a team-high 15 points and 15 rebounds with five assists. Against Class AAAA No. 5 Wheeling Park, she had eight points and five rebounds.
