My Buckhannon is proud to present another spring season of the Hank Ellis All-Stars.
Each week, we will select a male and female athlete at Buckhannon-Upshur who has had an exemplary week on the baseball or softball diamond, the track, the lacrosse field or the tennis courts.
Our Hank Ellis All-Stars for the week of May 5 – May 11 are Jack Waggy and Avery Hamer.
Waggy is a senior on the Buccaneer track and field team. He had the highest individual finish in the Big 10 Conference Championships for the Bucs, placing fifth in the 1600 meters with a time of 4:34.49. He was also part of the 4×800-meter relay foursome that had the highest overall finish for the Bucs, placing third with a time of 8:27.30.
Hamer is a sophomore on the Lady Buc softball team. In three games in the sectional tournament, she hit .500, going 4-for-8. She also scored four times and drove in three runs.
