BUCKHANNON – The Buckhannon Upshur Camera Club was recently honored to learn more about photography from guest speaker, Kevin Frick, from Harrison County.
Kevin shared some pointers and encouraged photographers to continue to see beauty in the mundane and to rediscover what brings passion and purpose.
A friendly competition was held among the membership with the theme of “graffiti”. Winner for the month was Al Tucker with a black and white train car.

West Virginia Wesleyan swept Frostburg State on Friday in Frostburg, with the women edging a 4-3 win and the men cruising to a 7-0 shutout in Mountain East Conference action. Key singles and doubles victories sealed both matches for the Bobcats.
West Virginia Wesleyan split a home doubleheader with West Virginia State, storming back for a 6-5 walk-off win in Game 1 before dropping Game 2, 5-1. Madison Austra went 4-for-4 and Giana DeSpirito drove in the winner, while Cassidy Cummings powered State in the nightcap.
West Virginia Wesleyan battled early but Concord pulled away late, handing the Bobcats 8-4 and 14-4 losses in Saturday’s doubleheader at Anderson Field.

Charles Allen, 93, of Buckhannon, died April 11, 2026, at Holbrook Healthcare Center following an extended illness. He was a U.S. Army veteran and retired from Western Union and the railroad.
