Teta Cutright Chidester

Teta Cutright Chidester, 85, of Rock Cave, traveled to Heaven from the comfort of her home on Saturday, November 13, 2021.

She was born in Philippi on February 29, 1936, a daughter of the late Henry Jerome and Mary Phillips Cutright.

On December 31, 1977, Teta married her true love, Hartsel Chidester. Together they shared 41 years of the ups and downs of life, raising their children, and then enjoying their grandchildren. Hartsel preceded Teta on the journey to Heaven on July 22, 2018. Along with her parents and Hartsel, Teta was greeted at Heaven’s Gate by two grandsons: Hartsel Keith Chidester II and Kermit Dale Long III; three brothers: Chestley Cutright, Junior Cutright, and Buster Cutright; and two sisters: Mary Katherine “Kate” Beavers and Nellie Jo Cutright.

Left to remember Teta’s motherly nature are her nine children: Donald Newcome of Gaines, Donnas Sines and husband, Perry, of Buckhannon, Debby Wayts and husband, Menzil, of Eden, Brenda Hanline and husband, Jack, of Alton, Sue Robinson and husband, Tom, of Buckhannon, Kenna “Peewee” Brown and husband, Mike, of French Creek, Hartsel “Sonny” Chidester and wife, Laura, of Cannan, Cathy Chidester Blair and husband, James, of Newport News, VA, and Billie Cutlip and husband, T.C., of Buckhannon; twenty-two grandchildren; twenty-five great grandchildren; one sister, Thelma Algene Humphrey of Sago; two brothers: Bud Cutright of Weston, Bob Cutright of Straight Fork; and several nieces and nephews.

Teta was a Christian by faith, devoted wife, and loving mother and grandmother. Along with being a homemaker and caring for her own family, she also spent over twenty years as an in-home care giver. She enjoyed gardening and canning, but above all, spending time with her family was where she found her joy.

Family and friends will gather for Visitation at Clutter Funeral and Cremation located at 21 Elnora Circle in Buckhannon from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, November 17, 2021.
