CHARLESTON, W.Va.– The West Virginia Wesleyan women’s tennis team dropped their Mountain East Conference regular season finale against Charleston on Friday. The Golden Eagles swept the Lady Bobcats 7-0 in the match. 

UC commanded much of the match on the afternoon, Alanis Alvarez showed a strong effort in the a three-set thriller at singles No. 3. After dropping the first set, Alvarez forced a deciding third set after she claimed a 6-3 win in the second set. Alvarez dropped the final set 10-5 in a hard fought matchup.

The Lady Bobcats were slated to wrap up regular season on Saturday at home against Bluefield State College. The Lady Bobcats were scheduled to recognize former coach Jim Smith with a court dedication beforehand.
