BUCKHANNON, W.Va.– The West Virginia Wesleyan men’s tennis team swept West Virginia State 4-0 on Wednesday behind the straight sets victory from Anthony McIntosh in singles.
The ‘Cats threw the first punch taking the doubles point behind victories at No. 2 and 3.
McIntosh and Taylor Papworth won 6-3 at No. 2 while Nicolo Zumba and Patrick Mcgee won 6-2 and No. 3.
Kihiro Karasawa continued the Orange and Blacks success in singles with a straight sets win at No. 1 (6-1, 6-3).
Ethan Thomas put the ‘Cats up 3-0 after he beat his opponent 6-1, 6-3 at No. 6. McIntosh overwhelmed his opponent at No. 5, winning 6-0, 6-1 to give WVWC the match.
Wesleyan will be back in action Friday playing Mercyhurst at California (Pa.)
