Summer to usher in Mountainside Music Series, sunset chairlift rides at Canaan Valley Resort

DAVIS – Beginning Friday, May 27 and featuring outdoor live music and scenic sunset chairlift rides, Canaan Valley Resort will host the Mountainside Music Series each Friday evening throughout the summer.

“Canaan Valley Resort is the perfect outdoor adventure basecamp to explore and enjoy the unique flora and fauna of the highest mountain valley in the eastern United States,” said Sam England, resort general manager. “Our Mountainside Music Series offers a great way to kick off your weekend stay in ‘The Valley’.”

Occurring outdoors on the Quencher’s Plaza, slopeside at the ski area, and free to the public, Canaan Valley Resort’s Mountainside Music Series features live music from 6-9 pm every Friday evening throughout the summer (5/27-9/2). Pub fare, as well as local craft brews, are available for purchase at Quencher’s Pub.

Musical acts scheduled to perform include: 18 Strings (5/27), The Cooley Gang (6/3), Old Towne Strings (6/10), Red Hawk (6/17), Andrew Adkins & 1863 (6/24), and the Jason Goode Band (7/1). For the full lineup and schedule of summer musical acts, click here.

Rising nearly 1,000 feet from the base of the ski area and offering breathtaking views of the surrounding valley and mountains, guests can also choose to enjoy a scenic sunset chairlift ride. Prices ranges from $5-$8 per individual, based on age. Chairlift rides are also available daily throughout the week and guests can choose to ride both up and back down the mountain on the lift or get off at the top of the mountain and hike the beautiful, two-mile Bald Knob Trail back to the ski area.

Canaan Valley Resort is a four seasons destination with a wide array of adventures and a variety of guest rooms and cabins. On-site activities include an 18-hole championship golf course, scenic chairlift rides, sporting clay shooting range, hiking and biking trails, bike rentals, miniature golf, and indoor/outdoor pools.

Canaan Valley Resort is situated in northeast West Virginia approximately 2½ hours from Washington, D.C., three hours from Pittsburgh and 2¾ hours from Charleston, W.Va.
