Sue Ann Staley Walls

Sue Ann Staley Walls, 86, of Buckhannon, W.Va. died Friday, April 30, 2021, at Mountain Memories Assisted Living and Retirement Center (formerly Colonial Place).

She was born September 13, 1934, in Lancaster, Ohio, a daughter of the late Frank and Jane Coon Staley. On June 16, 1954, she married Kenneth F. “Kenny” Walls who preceded her in death on June 19, 1999.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by two sisters, Virginia “Pudge” Stewart and Sandy Shepherd; two nephews, John Stewart and Dennis Poling and two brothers-in-law, Robert Stewart and Donald Shepherd.

Surviving are her daughter, Kim Walls and partner Jane White; nine nieces and nephews, Nancy Mullenix, Kandy Chicarell-Green (Shannon), Steve Chicarell, Amber Shepherd-Thompson (Chad), Jimmy Shepherd (Selene), Gary Walls (Helen), Debbie DeGol, Roger Walls (Faye) and Susie Farmer (Glenn); one sister-in-law, Betty Reed; brother-in-law, Paul Chicarell; three grandchildren, Vickie McBane (Don), Julie White and Steven White; special friends, Alta Donahue, Don Lauer and Audist and David Pancake and faithful dog, Sammie.

Mrs. Walls was an accounting clerk for Consolidated Gas and Supply Corporation and a Methodist by faith. Formerly of Sistersville, W.Va. and Clarksburg, W.Va., she was a part of the Red Hatters and a Rhododendron Twig for the Sistersville General Hospital. She was a member of the Stonewall Jackson Civic Club and the United Methodist Women. She loved traveling all over the world with her husband; two of her favorite places to visit being Aruba and Vegas.

The family would like to extend a special thank you the staff at Mountain Memories for their exceptional care of Sue.

Friends will be received Tuesday, May 4, 2021 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 10:05 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Brian Seeders and Rev. Bill Dawson officiating. Burial will follow at 2:30 p.m. in the Greenwood Cemetery in Sistersville, W.Va.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Olive Branch Animal Rescue, 2499 Badger Run Road, Sistersville, WV 26175.
