Stonewall Resort to host moonshine pairing dinner March 1

Offering a unique opportunity to not only explore, but taste Appalachian history and traditions, Stonewall Resort will host a Moonshine Pairing Dinner on Saturday, March 1.

“Moonshine has been a staple of Appalachian history, and we invite you to share in this storied tradition by joining us for what promises to be a very interesting, and delicious, event,” said Andre’ D’Amour, Stonewall Resort general manager.

D’Amour said guests will hear stories from the Hatfield family, who have been crafting moonshines and whiskies for over 150 years. Mark Hatfield, the Great, Great Grandson of Devil Anse Hatfield, continues to use the family’s cherished recipes at Hatfield & McCoy Moonshine, based in Gilbert, West Virginia on original Hatfield land.

The resort’s culinary team has designed a four-course menu to complement the distinct flavors of Hatfield family moonshines. Entertainment will be provided by Stalnaker Hill, a West Virginia bluegrass duo whose unique sound resonates with diverse audiences.

Event packages include overnight accommodations at the lakeside lodge, live entertainment, two tickets to the event, plated dinner pairing, moonshine beverage paring and one drink ticket per person of your choice of pairing option. Individual tickets are available.

Reservations are required and can be made by contacting the resort at (304) 269-7400 or via the website at www.StonewallResort.com.
