BUCKHANNON — The West Virginia Wesleyan College volleyball program welcomes Ashley Stanton as its new assistant coach.
Stanton started her volleyball career at Buckhannon-Upshur Middle School when, in eighth grade, the volleyball program started. She played for five years from middle school through Buckhannon-Upshur High School where she was North Central Athletic Conference (NCAC) first team all-conference in her senior year.
Stanton also ran track for nine years at the middle school, high school and collegiate levels. She was a part of the 2010 AAA Girls Track & Field State Championship Team in high school (the first girl’s state title for Buckhannon-Upshur High School). From 2011-13 she ran for Wesleyan’s women’s track & field team.
Stanton coached volleyball at Buckhannon-Upshur Middle School for three years and Buckhannon-Upshur High School for four years.
She was inducted into the Buckhannon-Upshur High School Hall of Fame in 2023 as a part of the 2010 AAA Girls Track & Field Team.
Stanton received her Masters of Business degree from West Virginia Wesleyan College in 2015.
