St. Joseph’s Hospital Auxiliary now accepting applications for scholarships

BUCKHANNON, W.Va. – St. Joseph’s Hospital Auxiliary is currently accepting applications for scholarships for Upshur County students. 

Two $750 scholarships will be awarded to students who are planning on pursuing a career in a medical field or have already begun their studies in a health-related field.  Students must have a GPA of 3.5 and demonstrate excellence in character, academics and leadership.

Applications are available at the information desk in the hospital’s main lobby or from Shauna Jones, Dean of Students Buckhannon-Upshur High School.

Applications are due no later than May 1, 2020.

Lacrosse Bucs crush Wheeing Park for first win, 15-3

Buckhannon-Upshur powered to its first win of the season with a 15-3 rout of Wheeling Park, using balanced scoring from seven players despite a near 30-minute delay. Braylon Oldaker, Easton Rice and Tobias Marple netted three goals each as the Bucs improved to 1-1.
