St. Joseph’s Hospital accepting donations of headband to attach surgical masks

BUCKHANNON, W.Va. – St. Joseph’s Hospital thanks the community for their willingness to provide homemade face masks.

Due to the requirement for masks used in a clinical setting to be medical-grade surgical masks, we are unable to accept homemade cotton masks. Also, homemade cotton masks are not permitted to be used over N95 respirators or surgical masks.

However, we do welcome the donation of home-made headbands with buttons to attach the masks. These headbands with buttons help to relieve the pressure off the ears from the masks.

If you would like to donate headbands, please drop them off in the bins located by the Triage tent outside St. Joseph’s Hospital’s Emergency Room.  If you have questions about other donations, please call 304-473-2046 for more information.
