Splashers win dual outing with Barbour County

TENNERTON – The Buckhannon Swim Club Splashers swept a home dual meet with the Barbour County Swim Team last Thursday.

The girls won by a score of 178-105 while the boys won their side by a 97-90 score.

The two squads won 42 events as the girls won 27 and the boys won 15.

Getting wins for the girls in U8 were Valerie Long in the 50-meter freestyle and the 25-meter backstroke, Augusta Richards in the 25-meter breaststroke, Hudsyn Orr in the 25-meter freestyle, Charli Hall in the 25-meter butterfly and the foursome of Hall, Londynn Metz, Hannah Davis, Orr in the 100-meter freestyle relay.

Berkeley Jeran captured three wins in the 9-10 age group taking the 50-meter freestyle, the 100-meter IM and the 25-meter butterfly.

The 11-12 age group won seven events as Aspen Manning claimed the 50-meter backstroke, the 100-meter IM and the 50-meter freestyle, Madison Cutright won the 100-meter freestyle and the 50-meter breaststroke and the foursomes of Manning, Cutright, Izabella Gould and Jeran won the 200-meter freestyle relay and the 200-meter medley relay.

Winning races for the 13-14 age group were Riley Yardley taking the 100-meter freestyle, the 50-meter backstroke and the 50-meter breaststroke, Lena Rose Walker winning the 100-meter IM and the 50-meter freestyle, Karson Karickhoff winning the 50-meter butterfly and the foursome of Walker, Liz Hurst, Karickhoff and Yardley taking the 200-meter freestyle relay.

Cadence Vincent won three events in the 15-18 age group, winning the 50-meter backstroke, the 100-meter IM and the 50-meter butterfly while Mallory Hughes won the 50-meter freestyle.

For the boys, Camdyn Egress and Holden Cabrera both won three events in the U8 age group.

Egress won the 50-meter freestyle, the 100-meter IM and the 25-meter breaststroke while Cabrera won the 25-meter backstroke, the 25-meter freestyle and the 25-meter butterfly.

Six wins came from the 9-10 age group as Warren Austin won the 50-meter freestyle and the 25-meter breaststroke, Felix Stump won the 25-meter backstroke and the 25-meter freestyle, Bryson Westfall won the 25-meter butterfly and the foursome of Warren, Carter Riffle, Stump and Westfall won the 100-meter freestyle relay.

In the 11-12 age group, Tucker Cabrera won the 50-meter backstroke and Jackson Richards won the 50-meter breaststroke and Brody Jeran won the 100-meter freestyle for the 13-14 age group.

The Splashers were slated to swim Tuesday at the Fairmont Field Club. They will be back in action Thursday hosting with MUAC and FFC.
